Lip fillers are the perfect way to enhance the appearance of your lips by injecting tiny droplets of hyaluronic acid to create a more defined, plump, hydrated and luscious lip. Steps
Step 1 - A topical anaesthetic cream is applied to the lips to ensure a comfortable experience.
Step 2 - The lips and surrounding skin is cleansed thoroughly.
Step 3 - A fine needle is used to carefully inject the product into the lips. The technique used will depend on the shape and volume of the lip being injected as well as the desired result.
Total treatment time: Approximately 30-45 minutes.
What to expect during the procedure:
Your treatment begins with a consultation with Dr Jacobs where she will discuss your specific needs be it volumizing, hydration or definition, as well as your treatment expectations.
This will be followed by a careful assessment of your lips and formulation of a treatment plan following which the treatment will commence.
Aftercare:
Mild swelling and bruising can occur, these are self-limiting and will resolve within a few days.
An ice pack can be applied up to 6 hours post treatment after which heat can be applied to assist with bruising and swelling.
For the first 24 hours post treatment avoid the following:
Strenuous exercise.
Applying makeup to the treated area.
Using anti-inflammatories like Brufen.
Lying face down.
A follow up visit may be scheduled after 2 weeks to assess whether a top up is required.
